After decades of relative isolation, Myanmar’s reform process and the subsequent political and economic changes have sparked investment interests. Large-scale land investment projects focus on the borderlands. These areas – considered Asia’s “final frontier” for resources – are home to poor and often persecuted ethnic minority groups.
